Albert and Regina Knoell
Regina Louise ( Miller) Knoell was born on
September 6, 1916, in Krem, North Dakota. She grew up attending the local country school near home and the high school in Hazen. While still in school, her sister Pauline invited her to stay at their home during Christmas vacation. Being a matchmaker, Pauline also invited her husband's brother Albert for a visit. Albert and Regina started dating, and as Regina remembers, although they did nothing special on their first date, she wore a long red dress. Regina always liked red. For her birthday, she recieved a lipstick and powder compact from Albert which was special to her.

Albert Fred Knoell was born on J ul y 7, 1911, in Hazen, North Dakota. He grew up and attended schools in the Hazen area. After their marriage, Albert and Regina lived on a farm north of Hazen that was homesteaded by Albert's father, Johannes. In 1982, they retired and moved into Hazen. To this marriage of almost 48 years, they were blessed with one son and three daughters. Albert died on January 24, 1983, in Hazen, North Dakota.
Regina worked as a cook at the Arrow Cafe and the Hazen Memorial Hospital.In June of 2002, she entered the Knife River Care Center in Beulah, North Dakota. Regina died on August 28, 2002, in Beulah, shortly after arriving there.
Regina enjoyed her extensive salt and pepper collection. She had over 300 sets. Many were recieved as gifts from relatives. She also collected recipes fropm the Miller family and gave a hand written copy of the file as a wedding gift to many in the family.

Russell Knoell
Russell Lawrence Knoell was born on March 4, 1938, in Hazen, North Dakota. He grew and attended schools in the Hazen area. In 1957, he graduated from Hazen High School. He attended a trade school in Fargo, North Dakota to become a mechanic. On June 15, 1963, he married Carolyn Piva in Napa, California.
Carolyn Joyce Piva was born on September 10, 1943, in Fresno, California. She grew up and
attended schools in Napa, California. In 1961, she graduated from Napa High School in Napa California. Russell was an excellent mechanic and in his spare time enjoyed restoring old cars and hunting. Russel and Carolyn had two children. On May 14, 1991 Carolyn married Richard Anderson in San Pablo, California
